He couldn’t drink but that hadn’t stopped him from going to the nearest bar after work. He had spent ten long hours trying to keep his work relationship with Horatio civil. Several times, he had walked out of a room if Horatio was in one. People had noticed that he was avoiding Horatio but he didn’t care.

At one point during those ten hours, Alexx had cornered him. He just rebuffed all of her concerns and walked away from her. Because of those last ten hours, his stress levels were high and that wasn’t good. He was meant to be enjoying his pregnancy but that wasn’t happening.

He slowly began to peel the label of the bottle of beer he would never drink. He knew that he couldn’t stay working as a csi in Miami. For a stress free pregnancy, he would need to leave Miami.

“You okay.” Eric asked. He along with everyone else at work had noticed that Ryan’s and Horiatis relationship was in trouble. He wanted to help change that. Horatio had been all set to follow Ryan to the bar but after an hour of convincing Horatio how bad of an idea, that was why he had come to the bar alone. He knew that he had only managed to delay Horatio’s appearance in the bar by thirty minutes at most.

“Just,” Ryan bit his lip to stop the obvious swear word from happening “My relationship is falling apart. Horatio is fixated on speed and I’m two months pregnant.”

“Horatio loves you. You are all he has been talking about.” Eric said.

Completely pulling the label of the bottle of beer, he said. “He doesn’t love me Eric. He just loves the idea of what we could have as a family.”

“Bullshit Ryan his devastated that you’ve left him. He deeply regrets how he has acted.” Eric said attempting to defend his friend’s actions with just a few words.

“If the person you loved more than life itself screamed out someone else’s name when you made love what would you do? Would you ignore it and hope that it was just a mistake? How would you treat a lover who made you feel worthless? Would you take them back with a smile and ignore the pain in your soul? Tell me how you would treat someone like that.” Ryan demanded.

Silently uttering several curse words for the lie he was about to say he said. “I would forgive them. If I loved a person with my entire being I would forgive them.”

Eyeing Eric it took him no more than a few seconds to see Eric’s word’s for the lies they were. Getting up from his barstool, he said. “Then you’re not the person I know. Horatio has hurt me in a way you can never experience. I gave him my heart and he ripped it into a thousand tiny pieces. I can’t forgive him for that and I don’t care how that makes him feel.”

Holding Ryan’s arm to stop him from leaving Eric was suddenly grateful for the appearance of Horatio. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Horatio standing just near the entrance of the bar. Taking a breath, he said. “You don’t mean that.”

“I would have done anything to make him happy. For so many weeks, I ignored the way he mentioned Speed’s name. For so long I fooled myself into thinking that he loved me.”

“He does love you.” Eric said.

Pulling his arm out of Eric’s hold, he shook his head. For a moment, he remained silent. Before he could give Eric an answer he had the feeling he was being watched. Without any hesitation, he turned his head in the direction of the bar’s entrance. He saw Horatio standing there and instead of feeling sympathy for Horatio for what he had told Eric he felt strangely empty. Turning back to face Eric he said. “Love shouldn’t have to be this painful or hard.”

“Ryan.” Horatio said. He had come to join Eric and Ryan. He had also caught the words Ryan had just spoken.

Turning to face Horatio and with a voice as cold as ice he said. “Didn’t you understand me when I said our relationship was over?”

“Tell me if you would be able to forgive me if this situation was reversed. Tell me that you would forgive me and I’ll come back.” Ryan asked

For a moment, it occurred to him that he could lie, but he had never been able to lie outright to someone he loved. He knew that honesty would end his relationship with Ryan, but he couldn’t bring himself to lie. “No, No I wouldn’t.”

Re: More!!!!!!!
I'm attempting to write the next part, but I'm never happy with what I have written. My muse also seems to be ignoring me at the moment.
