He slowly walked though the apartment determined to talk to Ryan. He wanted to fix what he had done but that wouldn’t be easy. Ryan was pissed of with him and he had every right to be. The fact that the apartment was spotless and not a speck of dirt could be found after it had lain empty for three months was just a sign of how pissed of Ryan was with him.

He reached the bedroom and found it to be empty. He took a few minutes to look at the state of bedroom. Like the rest of the apartment, the bedroom was spotless with one small exception. The bed was a mess. The one and only sheet that used to cover the bed was a crumpled ball that had somehow ended up in the corner of the bedroom.

Then he heard the sounds of Ryan being sick coming from the bathroom. He immediately left the bedroom and went into the bathroom stopping when he came upon the sight of Ryan hugging the toilet as if it was a long lost relative.

“Ryan.” Horatio said. He wanted to help Ryan and comfort him, but he was frozen to the spot.

At the sound of his lovers voice Ryan got up from the bathroom floor despite the constant need to be sick that he had. He looked at his lover and he suddenly found that he didn’t want to hear the excuses. He didn’t want to know why Horatio viewed him with such little respect. He didn’t want to start that type of a conversation with Horatio. Without uttering a single word in reply, he walked past Horatio and found his way to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen he began to look though the cupboards for any kind of food. He desperately needed something to settle his stomach.

“Ryan we need to talk.” Horatio said

What he needed Horatio to do was beg for forgiveness. He wanted Horatio to realize just what an asshole he had been but then that was never going to happen. The day that Horatio admitted that he was in the wrong was the day hell froze over. Giving up on his search for food, he turned round to face Horatio and said; “Talk.”

“I’m sorry.” Horatio said

Well, it had happened hell had just frozen over. “What are you sorry for. You had a conversation with Eric about me that was less than friendly .”

“You only heard part of the conversation. I was telling Eric how the pregnancy hormones had kicked in and you were already acting a little crazy.” Horatio said.

“Do you think that even excuses what you have done. When I first told you, I was pregnant, you laughed at me and then you did this whole thing with Eric. You were making me out to be a joke and I don’t like that. All I wanted from you was support and you couldn’t even give me that.” Ryan said

“I can now.” Horatio said. For once in his life, he was at a total loss as to what to tell Ryan. He had gone from the man who had answers to everything to the man who had none.

“For the first few months of our relationship you would call out Speeds name when we made love. I put up with it because If figured you were still grieving but I was just denying the obvious. It’s not me that you want me by your side. It’s not even that you see yourself in a relationship with. It has always been Speed. I was just always too stupid to realize it.” Ryan said

“None of that is true Ryan I love you.” Horatio said his temporary inability to find the words to what he felt hindering him. Speed represented his past and Ryan was his future.

“You promised me that you would never lie to me and that is exactly what you are doing now. If speed were still alive, I wouldn’t rate high on your radar. I know you will do the right thing for our child, but our relationship is over. The relationship we have just isn’t strong enough to survive raising our child together. It’s better to end our relationship before we ended up hating each other.”

Wow. I really like this series. I'm a huge mpreg fan and just got into the CSI-M fandom, so this was a great way to start off! Can't wait for more.
